The Future… (part 2)

Part 1 can be found here. Its just a video of the future vision by Microsoft. (Part 2 will be talking about MY future)

GOOD NEWS! Realizing that my readers are coming back to check for update more often after my last few posts, I decided to start writing often again. (this post is boring and texty, read it only if you can’t get to sleep)

For those of you who know me personally, you would have know that my passion is to be an entrepreneur, a businessman, a boss. However, when I was asked what kind of business do I want to go into, I would have given the excuses that I have 2 years serving in the army to think about it. The truth is, I do not know what I want to do. That was still me a few day ago…

Is it sooo… hard to think what kind of business to open? Answer = yes. At the back of my head, what we as designer can do is… web design company, t-shirt company, magazine company etc. These are the kind of business that a normal ‘businessman’ would open, but not an entrepreneur. There’s a distinct different between someone who just setup business(for the sake of being boss) and an entrepreneur. Unlike most bosses, entrepreneurs are the ones who look for opportunities and come up with innovative solutions.

Secondly, the business I want to open should also involve people around me. Like my friends for example, who is mainly designers. I hope to get them in as partners and work together in the future. Deep inside me, I’m always a designer and is proud to be one, so no matter what is the nature of the business, it shouldn’t deviate too far away from design.

Some of you guys might have known that I am also into Internet Marketing and a more or less experienced in SEO (i owned a few sites that has over 10k of visitors per month) but I never intended to make it my core business. So what if I can make alot of moola online? … staying at home all alone, working. Little social interaction, little challenges… totally boring life. Don’t be mistaken, it extremely lucrative and profitable online. If I work full-time as an online marketer, 1k per day is not an impossible task. However what’s the fun of it all? I remembered William was sharing that the reason he’s going Cambodia to help up and to serve the Lord is because when he reached the end of his life, he wanted to be able look back and find that he had led a meaningful life. No regrets.

What I am trying to say is… after long period of brainstorming. I finally thought of what I wanted to do. I do not want to reveal my business plan here. If you are interested, just ask me personally. Hints: Advertising, Surface Computing, Cloud Computing… That is probably too revealing already. So ciao, have a nice day!

Am I a Potential Assassin as seen in ‘Wanted’?

Am I a Potential Assassin as shown in the movie ‘Wanted’? It works like this…

During a crucial moment, more adrenaline is pumped to your body. The world seem to slow down. You feel like you might almost get a panic attack. Turns out, your speed and agility increase due to the slow speed of reality. You can dodge bullets, do extraordinary-super-human feats and even curve bullets…

That’s what I experience when I took NAPFA yesterday. Every time I take Shutter Run, I feel the Adrenaline Rush. It was an uncomfortable feeling as I felt that my whole body seem to slow down and my heart is pumping so fast, I could get a heart attack. My last timing is 9.6s for Shutter Run, which I think should be the best I can get (not bad for someone who don’t exercise very often).

I heard the person say go, and it took about .2 seconds for my body to react. I sprint, but I realize I am not sprinting as fast as I used to. My sprint seem to feel like jogging speed to me. I want to go faster but my body just don’t listen to me. When it come to the first turn, I took like another .2 seconds before my body realize it is time to turn… This happen when I took the first cone, then the second cone. When I pass the line, and the time is stop, everything suddenly resume to its normal speed again. I knew I didn’t run as fast as I usually could when I was training at home. But as the person announced the time, I was dumbfounded. 9.4s!!?? To me, it seem like a 10.5s speed (my estimation is usually very accurate)

That’s like! The whole world slow down in my mind. That’s like, Wanted! That’s like soooo freaking COOL! Ha-ha. For the rest of the 4 stations, I cleared with ease. My pull-up got a 8 this time and I feel that I can go more. Unfortunately, I screwed up for my 2.4km… yes… again. I had to much warm-up. I slow jog for 3-4 minutes and end up not being able to catch up with the timing. At least I improve, when my timing for Silver past, I just have 200m left to the finishing line. Just 200m!!

Beside being able slow down time, I can also speed up time. Ha-ha. That happen when I was chatting with my friend who was an actress (joking!), everything became so fast. I never realized until she asked why I slowed down. I slowed down!!?? What’re you talking about!!?? I was moving at normal speed (to me) and everything else is moving so quickly. I couldn’t explain it. Is this those kinda ‘theory’ that time passes fast when you are having a good time?? But this ‘theory’ is mostly figurative or happen only in the mind but in my case… its too literally!!!

Another case left unsolved. Leave that for another episode of… 5AmUeL wonderful blog post. Errmm… That’s a bit drama. Errmm… ciao!

Dare to be Different!

So have you guys write our your new year resolution yet? I hope all of you did. A resolution is a firm decision to do something or not to do something, so get on to it if you haven’t done it yet =D

Here I would like to share with you guys regarding the topic, ‘dare to be different’.

dare to be different

So what’s the big deal to be or not to be different. Let’s take a look myself for instance. I am not affected by the trend set by everyone else. I just do what I felt is right… I admit I’m different, but I am proud.

I feel for those people who are always wearing masks, playing ‘games’, or trying very hard to be someone other than themselves. Wouldn’t they like the freedom to just be accepted for who they are, without the pressure to be someone they really do not how to be? God knew what He was doing when He made us. We are a unique individual, each one is of us is DIFFERENT. It’s time we dare to accept ourselves as different, unique individual and stop being insecure about who we are.

So one thing you must identify is are you a People pleaser or a God pleaser.

Being a People pleaser is the easiest thing to do. When we start pleasing others, we might often hear comments that make us feel good about ourselves, feeding our own ego. That’s perfectly fine if we do not DERIVE our sense of WORTH in their comments/opinions. People are too fickle to base our self-worth on. We are worth something because God say so- not because of the opinion of what people think or say about us.

People pleaser also allow others to control their lives in order to gain acceptance and approval. However, God does not want us to be easily manipulated or controlled by others. We shouldn’t let other people’s opinions of us control what we do.

At the same time, we must walk in love. We can’t just do whatever we want without regards of others feeling.

But the challenge to be different is that the World(friends, family, society, etc) is continuing to conform us to its image. If we are not ’similar’ to them, we get rejected, ‘outcast’… However, the bible clearly states in Romans 12:2, Do not be conformed to this world,… but be transformed by the renewal of your mind… It’s then that we can good and acceptable will of God for our lives.

————-

Let’s deviate to some other lighter topic like… what happened in my life =D !!

One of my new year resolution that I never state in my previous post is that I want to be more active in cell group activities. That is why I die die must appear for the first ‘tuan qi’ of the year 2009. Guess what? The first activity is ICE-CREAM buffet. Okay the following pictures is kope from sbcyouth.blogpost.com

First tuan qi of year 2009. Oops, lim han must have let out gas, that’s why weili(guy in orange shirt) fainted…

Wow… the wide spread of ice-cream buffet. Someone prepare already ah… Loose pant so as to store more ice-cream.

Ice-cream float, we can make!

Look at zhaopei cigar! I want one too.

To conquer the enemies, we must have teamwork. That’s what was taught in NS

I was giving the expression of… you(ice-cream) are worth 2 rounds around the track!!

We managed to wipe them out. Muahahaha!

These few days, I kept training and preparing for NAPFA. This the shoe I bought. $95!!! Although good shoes make you use less energy when running and make you less prone to injury, I already ‘injured’ my wallet.

$70 basic running shoe + $25 in shoe padding (make it feel like a hundred plus shoe -(minus) the expensive price tag)

Okay ciao. Took me ages to write this posts =_=”
